WOMB's summary of 2022
“It’s not about more, but better.” This was the sentiment for all the projects, events and developments that were created this year at Womb. Upon reviewing 2022 we put on significantly less events than other years, yet emotionally, it didn’t feel like less. This year, the productions were technically far more complex and ambitious. In other words, the energy and effort of just one show in 2022 equaled at least four of the events from years prior.
2022 started off with the intention of being a year of self-care and balance. I held off planning any major event while I focused solely on making significant advances in the remodel and allowing myself the first vacation in years--thanks to visiting family that I hadn’t seen since 2018. My cousins swooped me away, and I left Womb for two weeks while I worked on perfecting my tan in Puerto Escondido. Lying around with nothing to do but read, yoga, and stare at the sunset, proved to be a challenge. I almost went crazy the first week. It’s amazing how addicted I had become to stress and feeling the need to constantly be “doing”. By the second week, I had a breakthrough, and my body finally allowed me the much needed physical and mental rest, and I truly enjoyed my few remaining days.
By April, the only big event planned so far was a redo of my 40th birthday that I shared with dear friend and huge supporter of Womb, Jon Seitel. We decided to go big, making up for the last few years of pandemia to celebrate ourselves Great Gatsby style with a red-carpet gala entitled, “Under the Stars.”
I broke out my sewing machine and crafted a stunning gown, Jon dusted off his tuxedo, and we delighted our 70 guests in bohemian luxury. I took full advantage of hiring my local artist friends to make our celebration over-the-top. This included 10 professional actors to line the red carpet and as soon as a guest arrived they would scream, take selfies and frantically ask for autographs. Even though it was a false fandom, after passing through the crowd, everyone I talked to about it told me they entered the party feeling like they were the most important person in the world. It made me think of how this experience could be developed into a future interactive event at Womb.
Upon entering Womb, guests were greeting by the booming voice of opera singer Ricardo Delgado Herbert. On cue, 45 minutes after the party began, I made my decent, a grand entrance, on the famous stairs of Womb, with Ricardo serenading me as my dearest friends and fake fans applauded in awe. It was a dream come true.
The rest of the night involved the following; an art installation by Michael Pribich, a magic show by actors Ivan Tula y Francisco Vallejo, a band of six mariachis, and to finish off the live entertainment, a burlesque act in 3 parts with the fabulous Anabel Venegas, Monstruosity and Ulises Vaquerano. The rest of the evening we danced to the beats of DJ Oscar Cuevas. It was a night to remember and will be a model for future galas at Womb as we kick off 2023 with the intention of inviting patrons of culture to invest in our rich community of artists.
Another significant and life changing event occurred early in the year. Two rescue puppies Remo and Romulo entered the Womb household. They are officially the new guard dogs, causing chaos at every turn, the plants are in constant danger of their lives (I had thought that construction was the worst) but these two creatures fill the house with non-stop affection and joy.
In March Womb created an alliance with RAC (Route de Arte y Cultura) a new kind of tour of Mexico which takes lovers and collectors of art to different parts of the city to get behind-the-scene experiences with artists. The tours cover four different sections of the city and Womb is part of the southern section. Besides opening our doors, we collaborated with Nat Comel and Melanie Reuter Loske to curate an art show for the visiting guests. Receiving over 40 people visit Womb in one afternoon was a rich experience in feedback. Mouths dropped in awe, as guests meandered through all the different spaces in Womb. “I would never imagine a house this beautiful in Portales,” I overheard one of the guests say to another. “This is the most gorgeous rooftop I’ve ever seen, and its not in Roma!” was another visitor’s comment
From April to July, I took on perhaps the most challenging of the remodel projects: the kitchen. The kitchen was by far, the ugliest and least efficient part of the house. Everything needed to be changed; windows replaced and expanded, the floor leveled, walls demolished, new doors installed, a completely new cabinetry designed. The only remnant of the old kitchen was the countertop, everything else had to go. There were many obstacles, mostly that the original carpenters were incompetent, after a delay of months, I found a replacement crew and now the new kitchen is spectacular. Personal touches grace practically every surface, especially the windows and door glass mosaics (made by me).
In July, we kicked off the first public event, Dan Silva (the artist of the master mural at Womb) organized us to host a workshop on mosaics with two artists from Argentina, Sol Ramos and Flor Delucchi. The intensive three-day experience resulted in a new mural at Womb, this mosaic poetically depicts the female reproductive system--I had always wondered when Womb would have a literal womb ;-).
Also in July, we had our only artist-in-residence painter Yasmine Weiss. Originally from France and based out of Belgium, Yasmine stayed with us for two months and created a masterwork based on the energetic field at Womb called: On Your Knees! (la Diosa de la Basura or Tlazolteotl).
August launched the first of a new concept of a series of on-going event called “Art Club” a hybrid of a night club mixed with food from a featured chef and live art. Art Club 1 featured fabulous chef-in-residence Johnny C from the USA who designed a tasting menu based on his roots in Laos culture. The main feature was a large BBQ where he grilled the meats amongst the guests and served while sharing his stories and recipes.
Painter, Nat Comel was the featured artist (Nat has a mural-in-progress in the upstairs kitchen in Womb). Nat set up an interactive paint station for guests to paint freely, while she also painted her own piece.
The vibe was enhanced by the music of DJs; Oscar Cuevas, Jess Varela and Paco D Harleyson. Guests grooved out to the tunes while eating delicious food and painting in the collective area. Art Club 1 was a completely sold-out event and showed the interest of the Womb community in this type of art socializing.
In September, Womb launched its most ambitious project to date Entrañas: an immersive circus performance of sensations, that travels through the dark corners of the mind and body to lead us to those turning points where tragedy becomes that break that rebirths everything. Entrañas was the debut of writer/director Lilian Estéban.
The show begins with the guests lined up on the street. The Mime and guide of the evening, played by Ramón Solano, calls out to the crowd from the balcony and then meets the public on the street, serves popcorn, and leads the crowd through the front gate to the first scene in the dining room where contortionist Carla Vásquez, performs the piece of Hunger.
Next, the Mime leads everyone to the living room where dancer Kios Oscar performs Heartbreak. The next scene is inside the gallery space looking into the lightwell where Lilian Estéban performs Sickness by hanging from her hair. Next the crowd enters a room full of trash and juggler Cristian Jose Bravo performs Contamination. The Mime then guides guest up the stairs so that they peer down at acrobats Veronica Ortiz and Adolfo Menchaca perform Violence. Next, the Mime guides everyone up the last set of stairs to perform Death. A knock on the door, and the Janitor played by Ivan Tula guides everyone out onto the terrace where the child actor LuzVi Gutierrez plays out Rebirth and Hope. The dark and twisted set designs were by Melanie Reuter Loske and the erie soundtrack throughout the performance were composed by Oscar Cuevas.
Logistically, financially, emotionally, Entrañas brought everyone to their limits. It was a show to remember, made with so much love and tears, and was a great lesson in the need of having financial backing for major works at Womb. While we four sold-out performances, and probably could have had even more, the emotional and financial cost of producing Entrañas was too high, that we had to cut the season short.
November brought the multi-media performance Undermictlan by artist Miguel Angel de Corona “El Reynito” in celebration of Día de los Muertos. It began with a film projection in the garden, to a Tzompantli or a traditional skull rack installation where the public could take pictures of their head amongst the dead. As the guests moved from the garden to the inside of the house, they came to meet with La Llorona a mystical figure of Mexican lore, following with a striptease by a Katrina, live songs by Niña Zombie, to then a performance of dánzon. Next the crowd received in-person posada grabados (traditional Mexican prints) of the famous Katrina or Skull Lady. Lastly, the entire public went up to the roof to eat Pan de Muerte (day of the dead bread) that was created in the shape of a human skeleton. Everyone enjoyed a piece of bread with traditional hot chocolate, and partied the rest of the evening.
In December, we celebrated Womb’s 3-year anniversary with Art Club 2, with the theme of the Flower, (also part of the logo of Womb) we covered the entire house with at least 500 red and pink roses and rose petals in every area. The evening began with a dinner menu of chef Naomi Kai who created Japanese dishes covered in flowers, and pastry chef Enbeth Mora who created the Womb dessert in the shape of a flower. The featured artist was body paint master Alex Ojo de lince and his team who painted models live while the guests enjoyed their food listening to the music of DJ Seycel and Paco Grooves. Two of the models were dancers Yon Espinoza and Isela Rangel, both covered in paintings of flowers and snakes, danced throughout the crowd to everyone’s delight.
The party then moved to the rooftop where DJs: Oscar Cuevas, Dave Lock, Julian Saenz, Flavor, kept the night bumping. For the first time since the opening of Womb, we opened the newly remodeled Artist-in-Residence cottage where we created the Healing Lounge, and sound healer Sergio Limon gave personal sessions alongside Rebeca Arciniega who offered tarot readings. The party was a great success and was a gorgeous way to end 2022, covered in roses
Overall, I am very proud of everything that was accomplished 2022. Yet it came at a cost. It was a very intense year, emotionally, physically and while the intention (if you look at last 2021’s blog) was self-care, by the end of 2022 I was completely drained. However, this is a pattern I have yet to overcome. Upon revisiting my blogs and personal writings, since the beginning of Womb the constant has been trying to find the balance of being good to one’s self and accomplishing major goals. I still struggle of finding that balance, and I feel like it is a reflection of the culture at large--we don’t know how to be productive without sacrificing our well-being. Perhaps it is the goal of a lifetime, and one that always needs attending to.
This year, 2023, I once again dedicate it to sustainability in all the senses; in particular financial regeneration. It is time to honor the hard work of the artists who bring so much beauty to the world to be compensated, it is also time for our community to support each other in new ways that we all rise together in balance and love. This is my prayer and will be the guiding force behind every program/activity/event for the coming year. I am excited to see what new challenges that brings, and I look forward to stepping into a new level of leadership that comes from a place of health and well-being in all of its expressions.

Thanks to all the artists who gave their hearts and talents to fill Womb with ever increasing beauty. And most importantly, to all the guests and friends who supported Womb by attending the events, without you none of this would be possible.
List of the accomplishments of the house projects:
Roof terrace: top of stair demolished to allow for an extension of the roof to cover all the stairs, a bathroom installed in the greenhouse, lattice installed in the roof, water capture system installed, bottle wall installed in the bar. Second rooftop terrace begun with roof, and barrier walls installed, roof waterproofed and groundwork prepared for wood floor installation.
Upstairs room: floors refinished, walls redone and painted, small stove and kitchen storage area installed.
Kitchen: floor releveled and tiled, cabinets replaced, kitchen door replaced with glass mosaic door, door installed between the downstairs bar and the kitchen. Wall broken between the kitchen nook and kitchen and a counter installed for eating. Walls refinished and painted, glass mosaics in both windows. Custom wooden doors created for between the bar and kitchen and dining room and kitchen.
Dinning Room: window removed and large glass door installed. Joui makes her biggest glass mosaic work to date to fit inside the door.
Downstairs Bar: window made of used bottles replaces old windows. Intelligent lights installed behind the window to light up the bottles. Walls refinished and painted.
Lightwell: beam installed at the top of lightwell to support heavy artwork or humans handing from it. Platform installed made from old metal windows from the house to be used for performance and installations.
Front of House: Tiles installed for the entrance, and area painted, neon Womb light installed, electric regulators and another electric line of 220 watts was installed.
Garden: entire house plumbing and sewer system replaced, and new planters built.
Downstairs bathroom: new tiles, shower, hanging light and mirror installed.
Upstairs Bedrooms: walls repainted bright and vibrant colors.
Artist in Residence cottage: walls redone and painted, floors refinished, mirror installed, closet redone, new lighting installed, new kitchen counter and shelving created, bathroom repainted and new lighting installed, new windows.

"No se trata de más, sino de mejor". Este fue el sentimiento de todos los proyectos, eventos y desarrollos que se crearon este año en Womb. En 2022 organizamos muchos menos eventos que otros años, pero emocionalmente no parecía que hubiéramos hecho menos. Este año, las producciones eran técnicamente mucho más complejas y ambiciosas. En otras palabras, la energía y el esfuerzo de un solo espectáculo en 2022 equivalen al menos a cuatro de los eventos de años anteriores.
2022 comenzó con la intención de ser un año de autocuidado y equilibrio. Me abstuve de planear cualquier evento importante mientras me enfocaba únicamente en hacer avances significativos en la remodelación y permitirme las primeras vacaciones en años -gracias a visitar a la familia que no había visto desde 2018. Mis primos me arrebataron y dejé Womb durante dos semanas mientras trabajaba en perfeccionar mi bronceado en Puerto Escondido. Quedarme tirada sin nada que hacer más que leer, hacer yoga y contemplar la puesta de sol, resultó ser todo un reto. La primera semana casi me vuelvo loca. Es increíble lo adicta que me había vuelto al estrés y a sentir la necesidad de estar "haciendo" constantemente. A la segunda semana, mi cuerpo por fin me permitió el descanso físico y mental que tanto necesitaba, y disfruté de verdad de los pocos días que me quedaban.
En abril, el único gran acontecimiento planeado hasta el momento era una nueva celebración de mi 40 cumpleaños que compartía con mi querido amigo y gran colaborador de Womb, Jon Seitel. Decidimos ir a lo grande, compensando los últimos años de pandemia para celebrarnos al estilo Gran Gatsby con una gala de alfombra roja titulada "Bajo las Estrellas".
Saqué mi máquina de coser y confeccioné un vestido impresionante, Jon desempolvó su esmoquin y deleitamos a nuestros 70 invitados con un lujo bohemio. Aproveché al máximo la posibilidad de contratar a mis amigos artistas locales para que nuestra celebración fuera por todo lo alto. Esto incluyó a 10 actores profesionales para que se alinearan en la alfombra roja y, en cuanto llegaba un invitado, gritaran, se hicieran selfies y pidieran autógrafos frenéticamente. Aunque se trataba de un falso fandom, después de pasar entre la multitud, todas las personas con las que hablé de ello me dijeron que habían entrado en la fiesta sintiéndose la persona más importante del mundo. Me hizo pensar en cómo podría desarrollarse esta experiencia en un futuro evento interactivo en Womb.
Al entrar en Womb, los invitados fueron recibidos por la potente voz del cantante de ópera Ricardo Delgado Herbert. En el momento justo, 45 minutos después del comienzo de la fiesta, hice mi entrada decente, una gran entrada, en las famosas escaleras de Womb, con Ricardo cantándome una serenata mientras mis amigos más queridos y mis falsos fans aplaudían asombrados. Fue un sueño hecho realidad.
El resto de la noche consistió en lo siguiente: una instalación artística de Michael Pribich, un espectáculo de magia a cargo de los actores Ivan Tula y Francisco Vallejo, un grupo de seis mariachis y, para rematar el espectáculo en directo, un número de burlesque en 3 partes con la fabulosa Anabel Venegas, Monstruosity y Ulises Vaquerano. El resto de la noche bailamos al ritmo del DJ Oscar Cuevas. Fue una noche para recordar y será un modelo para futuras galas en Womb, ya que iniciamos 2023 con la intención de invitar a los mecenas de la cultura a invertir en nuestra rica comunidad de artistas.
A principios de año se produjo otro acontecimiento importante que cambió nuestras vidas. Remo y Rómulo, dos cachorros rescatados, entraron en la casa de Womb. Son oficialmente los nuevos perros guardianes, provocan el caos a cada paso, las plantas están en constante peligro de muerte (yo pensaba que la construcción era lo peor) pero estas dos criaturas llenan la casa de cariño y alegría sin parar.
En marzo, Womb creó una alianza con RAC (Ruta de Arte y Cultura), un nuevo tipo de recorrido por México que lleva a los amantes y coleccionistas de arte a diferentes partes de la ciudad para vivir experiencias entre bastidores con los artistas. Los tours cubren cuatro secciones diferentes de la ciudad y Womb forma parte de la sección sur. Además de abrir nuestras puertas, colaboramos con Nat Comel y Melanie Reuter Loske para comisariar una exposición de arte para los visitantes. Recibir a más de 40 personas que visitaron Womb en una tarde fue una experiencia rica en comentarios. Se les caía la boca de asombro cuando recorrían los distintos espacios de Womb. "Nunca habría imaginado una casa tan bonita en Portales", oí decir a uno de los invitados. "Es la azotea más bonita que he visto nunca, y no está en Roma", comentó otro visitante.
De abril a julio, me encargué del que quizá fuera el proyecto de remodelación más difícil: la cocina. La cocina era, con diferencia, la parte más fea y menos eficiente de la casa. Había que cambiarlo todo: cambiar y ampliar las ventanas, nivelar el suelo, demoler las paredes, instalar puertas nuevas y diseñar armarios completamente nuevos. El único vestigio de la antigua cocina era la encimera, todo lo demás tenía que desaparecer. Hubo muchos obstáculos, sobre todo que los carpinteros originales eran incompetentes, después de un retraso de meses, encontré un equipo de reemplazo y ahora la nueva cocina es espectacular. Los toques personales adornan prácticamente todas las superficies, sobre todo los mosaicos de cristal de las ventanas y las puertas (hechos por mí).
En julio, dimos el pistoletazo de salida al primer evento público, Dan Silva (el artista del mural maestro de Womb) nos organizó un taller sobre mosaicos con dos artistas argentinas, Sol Ramos y Flor Delucchi. La experiencia intensiva de tres días dio como resultado un nuevo mural en Womb, este mosaico representa poéticamente el sistema reproductor femenino--siempre me había preguntado cuándo Womb tendría un útero literal ;-).
También en julio, tuvimos a nuestra única artista residente, la pintora Yasmine Weiss. Originaria de Francia y afincada en Bélgica, Yasmine se quedó con nosotros durante dos meses y creó una obra maestra basada en el campo energético de Womb llamada: ¡De rodillas! (la Diosa de la Basura o Tlazolteotl).
En agosto se puso en marcha el primero de una nueva serie de eventos llamados "Art Club", un híbrido entre discoteca, comida de un chef y arte en directo. El Art Club 1 contó con el fabuloso chef residente Johnny C, de EE.UU., que diseñó un menú degustación basado en sus raíces en la cultura de Laos. El plato fuerte fue una gran barbacoa en la que asó las carnes entre los invitados y las sirvió mientras compartía sus historias y recetas.
El pintor Nat Comel fue el artista invitado (Nat tiene un mural en curso en la cocina del piso superior de Womb). Nat montó una estación de pintura interactiva para que los invitados pintaran libremente, mientras ella también pintaba su propia obra.
El ambiente se animó con la música de los DJ Oscar Cuevas, Jess Varela y Paco D Harleyson. Los invitados bailaron al ritmo de la música mientras comían deliciosos platos y pintaban en la zona colectiva. El Art Club 1 agotó todas las entradas y demostró el interés de la comunidad de Womb por este tipo de socialización artística.
En septiembre, Womb lanzó su proyecto más ambicioso hasta la fecha Entrañas: un espectáculo de circo inmersivo de sensaciones, que recorre los rincones oscuros de la mente y el cuerpo para llevarnos a esos puntos de inflexión donde la tragedia se convierte en esa ruptura que lo renace todo. Entrañas fue el debut de la escritora y directora Lilian Estéban.
El espectáculo comienza con los invitados alineados en la calle. El Mimo y guía de la velada, interpretado por Ramón Solano, llama a la multitud desde el balcón y luego se reúne con el público en la calle, sirve palomitas y conduce a la multitud a través de la puerta principal hasta la primera escena en el comedor donde la contorsionista Carla Vásquez, realiza la pieza de Hambre.
A continuación, el Mimo conduce a todos a la sala de estar, donde el bailarín Kios Oscar interpreta Heartbreak. La siguiente escena es dentro del espacio de la galería mirando hacia el pozo de luz donde Lilian Estéban interpreta Enfermedad colgándose del pelo. A continuación, el público entra en una habitación llena de basura donde el malabarista Cristian José Bravo interpreta Contamination. A continuación, el mimo guía a los espectadores escaleras arriba para que vean a los acróbatas Verónica Ortiz y Adolfo Menchaca interpretar Violencia. A continuación, el Mimo guía a todos por el último tramo de escaleras para que representen Muerte. El conserje, interpretado por Iván Tula, llama a la puerta y guía a todos a la terraza, donde la niña LuzVi Gutiérrez interpreta Renacimiento y Esperanza. La escenografía, oscura y retorcida, es obra de Melanie Reuter Loske, y la banda sonora, erótica, de toda la representación, de Óscar Cuevas.
Desde el punto de vista logístico, financiero y emocional, Entrañas puso a todos al límite. Fue un espectáculo para recordar, hecho con mucho amor y lágrimas, y una gran lección sobre la necesidad de contar con apoyo financiero para las grandes obras de Womb. Aunque agotamos las entradas para cuatro funciones, y probablemente podríamos haber agotado aún más, el coste emocional y financiero de la producción de Entrañas fue demasiado alto, y tuvimos que interrumpir la temporada.
Noviembre trajo la performance multimedia Undermictlan del artista Miguel Ángel de Corona "El Reynito" para celebrar el Día de los Muertos. Comenzó con la proyección de una película en el jardín, hasta llegar a un Tzompantli o instalación tradicional de calaveras donde el público podía fotografiarse la cabeza entre los muertos. A medida que los invitados pasaban del jardín al interior de la casa, se encontraban con La Llorona, una figura mística de la tradición mexicana, seguida de un striptease a cargo de una Katrina, canciones en directo de Niña Zombie y una actuación de dánzon. A continuación, el público recibió en persona posadas grabadas de la famosa Katrina o Señora de la Calavera. Por último, todo el público subió a la azotea para comer Pan de Muerte creado en forma de esqueleto humano. Todos disfrutaron de un trozo de pan con el tradicional chocolate caliente, y festejaron el resto de la noche.
En diciembre, celebramos el tercer aniversario de Womb con Art Club 2, con el tema de la Flor, (también parte del logo de Womb) cubrimos toda la casa con al menos 500 rosas rojas y rosas y pétalos de rosa en cada área. La velada comenzó con un menú de cena a cargo de la chef Naomi Kai, que creó platos japoneses cubiertos de flores, y la pastelera Enbeth Mora, que creó el postre Womb en forma de flor. El artista invitado fue el maestro del body paint Alex Ojodelince y su equipo, que pintaron a modelos en directo mientras los invitados disfrutaban de su comida escuchando la música de DJ Seycel y Paco Grooves. Dos de los modelos fueron los bailarines Yon Espinoza e Isela Rangel, ambos cubiertos de pinturas de flores y serpientes, bailaron entre la multitud para deleite de todos.
A continuación, la fiesta se trasladó a la azotea, donde los DJ: Oscar Cuevas, Dave Lock, Julian Saenz y Flavor, animaron la noche. Por primera vez desde la apertura de Womb, abrimos la recién remodelada cabaña de Artistas en Residencia donde creamos el Healing Lounge, y el sanador de sonido Sergio Limón dio sesiones personales junto a Rebeca Arciniega que ofreció lecturas de tarot. La fiesta fue un gran éxito y fue una forma preciosa de terminar 2022, cubiertos de rosas.
En general, estoy muy orgullosa de todo lo que se consiguió en 2022. Sin embargo, tuvo un coste. Fue un año muy intenso, emocional y físicamente, y aunque la intención (si te fijas en el blog del pasado 2021) era el autocuidado, a finales de 2022 estaba completamente agotada. Sin embargo, este es un patrón que todavía tengo que superar. Al volver a visitor mis blogs y escritos personales, desde el comienzo de Womb la constante ha sido tratar de encontrar el equilibrio entre ser bueno con uno mismo y lograr objetivos importantes. Todavía me cuesta encontrar ese equilibrio, y creo que es un reflejo de la cultura en general: no sabemos cómo ser productivos sin sacrificar nuestro bienestar. Quizá sea el objetivo de toda una vida, y uno que siempre hay que atender.
Este año, 2023, vuelvo a dedicarlo a la sostenibilidad en todos los sentidos; en particular a la regeneración financiera. Es hora de honrar el duro trabajo de los artistas que tanta belleza aportan al mundo para que sea compensado, también es hora de que nuestra comunidad se apoye mutuamente de nuevas formas para que todos nos levantemos juntos en equilibrio y amor. Esta es mi oración y será la fuerza que guíe cada programa/actividad/evento del próximo año. Estoy ansiosa por ver qué nuevos retos nos depara este año, y espero entrar en un nuevo nivel de liderazgo que provenga de un lugar de salud y bienestar en todas sus expresiones.
Post Scriptum: Ninguna mujer es una isla y me gustaría dar un agradecimiento especial a las siguientes personas que sin ellos nada de esto sería posible; Oscar Cuevas gracias por amarme a mi y a Womb y traer todo tu talento y experiencia a este proyecto; al arte y remodelación, tu toque será por siempre parte de Womb. Gracias a Rosa que hace que yo, los perros y la casa no nos caigamos a pedazos. A Jon, Jackie, Ivan, Melanie, Nat, Juliana y Reynito, también conocidos como "The Womb Crew", por estar siempre ahí para cualquier tipo de apoyo: emocional, técnico y más allá. A Ingrid O y Pavel por ser el equipo ideal para los eventos. A Simon por quedarse una semana a pintar paredes y llenar Womb de energía positiva. A mi equipo de apoyo emocional a distancia: Ahna S, Daniel C, John M, Kate J, Marisa Q, Megan L, Sonja F y muchos más cuya energía se hizo sentir.
Gracias a todos los artistas que entregaron su corazón y su talento para llenar Womb de una belleza cada vez mayor. Y lo más importante, a todos los invitados y amigos que apoyaron a Womb asistiendo a los eventos, sin ustedes nada de esto sería posible.
Lista de las realizaciones de los proyectos de la casa:
Terraza en la azotea: demolición de la parte superior de la escalera para permitir una ampliación del tejado que cubra toda la escalera, instalación de un cuarto de baño en el invernadero, instalación de celosía en el tejado, instalación de un sistema de captación de agua, instalación de un muro de botellas en el bar. Comienzo de la segunda azotea con tejado y muros de barrera instalados, impermeabilización del tejado y preparación del terreno para la instalación del suelo de madera.
Habitación de arriba: suelos repintados, paredes rehechas y pintadas, pequeña cocina y zona de almacenamiento de cocina instaladas..
Cocina: suelo renivelado y alicatado, armarios sustituidos, puerta de la cocina sustituida por una de mosaico de vidrio, puerta instalada entre el bar de abajo y la cocina. Pared rota entre el rincón de la cocina y la cocina y un mostrador instalado para comer. Paredes reacabadas y pintadas, mosaicos de vidrio en ambas ventanas. Puertas de madera hechas a medida entre el bar y la cocina y entre el comedor y la cocina.
Comedor: ventana eliminada y gran puerta de cristal instalada. Joui hace su mayor obra de mosaico de vidrio hasta la fecha para que quepa dentro de la puerta.
Bar de la planta baja: una ventana hecha con botellas usadas sustituye a las antiguas. Se instalan luces inteligentes detrás de la ventana para iluminar las botellas. Paredes restauradas y pintadas.
Pozo de luz: se instala una viga en la parte superior del pozo de luz para soportar obras de arte pesadas o personas que las manipulen. Se instala una plataforma hecha con viejas ventanas metálicas de la casa que se utilizará para actuaciones e instalaciones.
Frente de la casa: Azulejos instalados para la entrada, y área pintada, luz de neón Womb instalada, reguladores eléctricos y otra línea eléctrica de 220 vatios fue instalada.
Jardín: se sustituyó todo el sistema de fontanería y alcantarillado de la casa, y se construyeron nuevas jardineras.
Baño de la planta baja: nuevos azulejos, ducha, luz colgante y espejo instalados.
Dormitorios de arriba: se repintaron las paredes con colores vivos y brillantes.
Cabaña del artista residente: paredes rehechas y pintadas, suelos repintados, espejo instalado, armario rehecho, nueva iluminación instalada, nueva encimera de cocina y estanterías creadas, baño repintado y nueva iluminación instalada, nuevas ventanas.
Proyectos Artísticos:
- Mural principal se ha completado con la cabeza de cerámica instalada por el artista Olmo Decont y cerámica personalizada estrella-ojo por Melissa Grassie.
- Instalación de arte por Micheal Pribitch con neumáticos colgando de la viga del pozo de luz.
- Mural en la habitación de arriba por el artista Nat Comel.
- Puertas interiores de la casa principal pintadasy diseñadas por la artista Melanie Reuter Loske.
-La artista internacional residente Yasmine Weiss crea un cuadro para Womb inspirado en su estancia aquí: "¡De rodillas! (La Diosa de la Basura) basado en su experiencia en Womb
- Art Club 1 El chef residente Johnny C coproduce por primera vez con el artista Nat Comel un combo de arte en vivo/participativo con comida y música
- Taller de Mosaico co-creado por Dan Silva con los artistas visitantes argentinos Sol Ramos y Flor Delucchi, dejan Womb con un nuevo mural.
- Entrañas es estrenada por la primera directora/escritora Lilian Esteban con música original de Oscar Corona.
- Mosaicos de vidrio: Joui crea cinco grandes mosaicos de vidrio instalados por toda la casa.
- Día de los Muertos Untermitchlan
- Art Club 2 una celebración de los 3 años de Womb
